Lead crystal is lead oxide added to molten glass. Its refraction index is 1.7, glass is 1.5. It gives lead crystal its "sparkle" and its ability to reflect direct sun light and create beautiful rainbow spectrums. It is is very fragile and scratches easily. Avoid cleaning with harsh commercial cleaners.
